Ocean Freedom was proud to be on the ground in Cape Town this past weekend, supporting athletes at the Cape Town Triathlon, one of the city’s most iconic endurance events.
Set against the backdrop of Table Mountain and the Atlantic coastline, the triathlon brought together athletes of all levels to compete across sprint and standard distances — including a 1.5km swim, 40km cycle and 10km run in a high-energy celebration of sport, community and performance.
As part of its ongoing commitment to athlete wellbeing, Ocean Freedom activated on-site to support participants facing long hours of sun exposure across the swim, bike and run courses.
Throughout race day, Ocean Freedom provided:
- Broad-spectrum sunscreen for UV protection
- Anti-chafe solutions to support comfort and performance
With racing taking place along Cape Town’s exposed coastline and urban routes, athletes faced constant environmental stress reinforcing the importance of skin protection as a key part of endurance performance.
Ocean Freedom’s presence ensured that competitors had access to essential protection when it mattered most, helping them perform at their best in demanding conditions.
This activation forms part of Ocean Freedom’s broader mission to support athletes in extreme environments from mountain stages to open-water events where sun exposure and performance go hand in hand.
