Ocean Freedom Brings Colour, Care and Sun Protection to Kirstenhof Primary Fun Run

Cape Town, South Africa – March 2026

Ocean Freedom partnered with Kirstenhof Primary School in Cape Town to support its annual school fun run, bringing a strong focus on children’s sun protection, outdoor wellness and active lifestyles.

The Kirstenhof Primary Fun Run, organised by the school’s PTA, is a popular Cape Town community event that encourages children and families to stay active while enjoying the outdoors. This year’s event featured a fun and accessible 3km route, with learners taking part in a day filled with movement, confidence-building and school spirit.

Ocean Freedom added a unique and engaging element to the event by introducing colourful sunscreen for kids, transforming sun protection into a fun and memorable experience. Children applied bright, visible sunscreen before the race, turning an essential health habit into an exciting part of their pre-run routine.

By making sun safety for children interactive and enjoyable, Ocean Freedom helped reinforce the importance of protecting young skin during outdoor activities — especially under the strong South African sun.

Throughout the day, the Ocean Freedom team supported participants and families, encouraging simple, effective sun care habits while children took part in the fun run. With extended time spent outdoors, the event highlighted the growing need for UV protection for kids as part of everyday activity.

Ocean Freedom’s involvement reflects its broader commitment to children’s health, skin protection and outdoor wellbeing. By partnering with local schools and community initiatives in Cape Town, the brand continues to support environments where healthy habits are formed early and carried through life.

As more families embrace outdoor activity, the message remains clear: sun protection should be part of every child’s routine and it can be fun, simple and accessible.
